CAN Wires -

Random question I'm having with a used install.
2011 335xi E90. Back in the 335 game finally after a few years. If the CAN wires are not clean and have an issue, would the car even start? My car will long crank and start but stumble and have a bunch of codes. Steering wheel controls do not work either, as expected with a CAN issue. Even connecting the USB to a laptop , I can't get the jb4 to connect. I'm going to re do the CAN wires in the am but thought it was odd I couldn't even connect to it on a laptop.

Will cause all sorts of issues. If you suspect them just disconnect both wires and check behavior.
